Plant and Grow a Variety of Daffodils for the Garden and Bouquets
Plant a variety of daffodils with different flower types and bloom times this fall. You’ll extend your enjoyment and keep your vases filled for months throughout the spring.
Welcome spring with early blooming daffodils like Silver Smiles with pure white petals and a ruffled pale-yellow cup. Add brilliant color to arrangements and gardens with Barrett Browning. Its orange-red cup with a yellow halo at the base is set against white petals.
Include a bit of pink in the mid to late spring garden with Blushing Lady. Its pale-yellow petals are topped with a pale pink cup and provide a light fragrance.
This is also the time the split corona and double daffodils begin taking center stage. The fluffy flowers of double daffodils resemble a rose, and most are fragrant. Both types combine nicely with the more traditional daffodils, while providing a unique flare to gardens and arrangements.
A bit more information: Floral designers are including many of the unique daffodils in their arrangements. Consider including some unusual varieties like doubles, bi-colors and split cups, in colors such as creamy white, peach, pink, gold and orange in your bouquets.
