Meet the Team
Melinda Myers is the real deal and she’s got the dirt under her fingernails and the degree on the wall to prove it.
A nationally-known gardening expert, Melinda is an experienced TV/radio host, the author of over 20 gardening books, a syndicated columnist, and frequent speaker at flower shows, Master Gardener events and home & garden shows across the country.
Thanks to a Master’s Degree in Horticulture and 30+ years of experience, Melinda not only knows her tubers from her bulbs, she also helps instill confidence in gardening newbies while inspiring those who have mulched their fair share of garden beds.
Of course, she’s killed a few plants along the way, but she’s not afraid to admit it! (As a horticulturist she knows why they die and as a gardener she says it makes more room to try something new.)
Melinda brings intelligence, enthusiasm, and a down-to-earth sensibility to every presentation and educational opportunity. As she says, “I’m a teacher at heart. Radio, TV, newspapers, and blogs are my classrooms.”
Melinda has received numerous awards throughout her career, including most recently:
The GWA: The Association for Garden Communicators Hall of Fame Award
The American Horticultural Society’s B.Y. Morrison Communication Award
Melinda’s Garden Moments TV & Radio
Columnist for Birds & Blooms, Wisconsin Gardening, Chicagoland Gardening and her syndicated newspaper column
