Spring Homegrown Bouquets
Keep your flower vases filled this spring with beautiful blossoms picked right from your garden and containers.
Look to your landscape for early spring additions. Spring flowering bulbs like tulips and daffodils, cool weather annuals like pansies and snapdragons and a few stems of spring flowering trees and shrubs are a great way to welcome spring into your home. Then check out the perennial garden for bleeding heart, iris, peonies and other spring flowers.
Add some texture with greenery harvested right from your garden or indoor plant collection.
If your spring garden’s cut flower selection is limited, ask a gardening friend for help. Strike up a trade. You harvest a few of their spring flowers and they receive some of your handcrafted bouquets. Then make a note to add some spring blooming bulbs and perennials to your landscape to harvest and enjoy for years to come.
A bit more information: You don’t need to fill a huge vase with homegrown flowers to brighten your home. Even a few pansy blooms in a small vase, a couple daffodil stems combined with pussy willow branches or a flowering redbud stem in a bud vase are sure to generate a smile.
