DIY Potting Benches from Pallets
Put old pallets to work in your yard or craft them into the perfect gift for your favorite gardener.
You have probably seen or even turned old pallets into planters and compost bins.
Jenna Burger turned them into a fold down gardening table that can be mounted to a wall or fence. One pallet is attached to the wall or fence and the second secured to the first with heavy duty strap hinges and chains. The gardening table stores flat against the wall when not in use. Visit jennaburger.com for detailed instructions.
If space is not an issue, try creating a full size, standalone potting bench from pallets. You’ll find lots of plans for these on the internet. Some require you to disassemble the pallets, cut the pieces to the desired size and reassemble. Others make minimal changes to the pallet when constructing the bench.
Pick the one that works best for you.
A bit more information: If you are worried about the environmental impact of using pallets, look for HT on the pallet and initials of the country of origin. This denotes the pallets were heat-treated.
