Plant a Tree for Dad on Father’s Day

Plant a tree for Dad this Father’s Day and grow memories for years to come.

Include Dad on the trip to the nursery. Selecting the tree together is often the best part of the gift.  Once home, be sure to properly plant the tree in a location where it not only looks good, but has the right soil, sufficient light and enough space for its mature size.

Always call 811 at least 3 business days before digging in to prevent damaging any underground utilities. And avoid overhead wires so your tree has plenty of room to reach its full potential away from these utilities.

No room for a tree – no worries. Plant a small ornamental or fruit tree in a container on your balcony or deck.

Or sponsor a tree planting or adopt a tree in a national forest or your local park in honor of dad.

A bit more information:  Save the Redwoods League, Arbor Day Foundation, National Wildlife Federation and American Forests are just a few organizations that have tree planting sponsorship and funding projects.
