Poetry Stones in the Garden
Convert interesting stones into garden poetry that family and friends will enjoy.
Purchase or gather stones, weatherproof markers or paint and environmentally friendly sealer. Then gather family and friends to start brainstorming the words, simple and complex, you want to include.
Write or paint a single word on each stone and use a weatherproof sealer to help it last through weather extremes. Then locate a spot in the landscape where visitors can stop and arrange the stones in fun messages or thoughtful poetry.
Consider adding a mailbox or decorative bin to house extra stones and markers. Let visitors know they can add their own words as needed. These new additions can be sealed as time allows or inspire you to permanently add these new words to your collection.
Artists in the group can add flowers, insects, or other images to the mix for more visual expressions.
A bit more information: Consider making this activity part of a gathering. Let each participant select a stone and add a word. Once the stones dry, let the creativity flow and watch as people start arranging the words and images.
