Star Studded Petunia Varieties for the Garden

When looking for a new twist on a favorite annual flower consider the Sky family of petunias.

These petunias have unique patterns of white speckles on flowers, resembling stars. The original Night Sky® petunia has large flowers, is heat tolerant and forms a somewhat trailing mound 10 to 16” high. It is now part of the Headliner™ group of Sky petunias.

Headliner Crystal Sky is new, with white speckles on light lavender flowers and has a habit similar to the original Night Sky.

Headliner Electric Purple Sky, also new, has fluorescent dark-magenta blooms with starry speckles.

High night temperatures and high humidity can affect the amount and pattern of the white speckles. Flowers will display more starry effects with cooler nights or a break in high daytime temperatures.

A bit more information: Headliner Sky petunias flower best with six hours or more of direct sunlight.  Grow these in a well-drained garden soil or container and hanging baskets filled with a quality potting mix.
