Colorful Easy Care Calibrachoa for Mother's Day

Flowers and Mother’s Day go hand in hand. Make this year special with a beautiful easy-care basket of calibrachoas.

You may know these low maintenance flowers as mini-petunias or by their collection names of Million Bells, Callie, Calipet and more. These colorful flowers grow best in at least 6 hours of full sun and well-drained soil. With proper watering and fertilization your mother will enjoy thousands of blooms all season long.

You’ll find calibrachoas in a variety of brilliant colors with fascinating streaks and stripes, eye-catching stars, and patterns that resemble the strokes of a brush.

They look beautiful alone or mixed with other flowers in hanging baskets, containers and planters displayed on your porch, patio, deck or balcony.

The wide range of colors, interesting patterns and easy-care nature made it one of the 2018 National Garden Bureau Year of designees.

A bit more information:  Expand your options by starting seeds of your favorite calibrachoas indoors next year. Start seeds 8 weeks before the last spring frost. Sow seeds on the surface of a seed starting mix and gently press into the soil. These seeds germinate best with light. Keep soil warm, 70 to 75 degrees, and moist.  Watch for seedlings to appear in 10 to 14 days.
