Low Maintenance Budget Wise Marigolds

Extend your plant budget while adding a burst of long-lasting color to containers and gardens with marigolds.

These traditional favorites can be started directly in the garden from seed after the danger of frost has passed. Or get a jump on the season by starting them indoors about 4 weeks before the average last spring frost.

Marigolds come in a variety of heights and flower sizes.  The flowers are great as cut flowers and the petals can be eaten as long as they have not been treated with pesticides. Plant them in full sun and moist well-drained soils for best results.

Grow a big splash of color with the 2019 All-America Selections winner Big Duck Gold. This new marigold produces large golden yellow flowers on 15-inch plants. You’ll enjoy a long season of color as these bold beauties flower throughout the summer and into fall.

A bit more information:  Team Big Duck Gold with Moonsong Deep Orange. This 2010 All-America Selections Winner is similar in height with equally large orange blossoms. Both are great in the garden or container.
