All-America Selections 2020 National Perennial Flower Winners
Make room in your garden for these two All-America Selections Perennial Winners. They’re tested nationally and proven locally.
Sombrero® Baja Burgundy Echinacea has deep violet-red flowers that are great in the garden or a bouquet. The plant survived and maintained its beauty after three years of trialing and tough winter conditions. Hardy to zone 4 you will enjoy the prolific blossoms from mid-summer until frost and the birds and pollinators that come to visit.
American Gold Rush Rudbeckia is the other 2020 All-America Selections Perennial winner. Its bright golden-yellow flowers with black centers top this compact plant. This easy to grow perennial is resistant to Septoria leaf spot that has adversely impacted other Rudbeckias. You and the pollinators will enjoy these bright yellow flowers from July through September and even to frost.
A bit more information: These two perennials share the title as the first-ever herbaceous perennials to win the AAS winners award. They were trialed throughout North America and performed better than the existing varieties they were being judged against. The trial was conducted over three years that included some grueling winter weather.
