Turk's Cap Lily
My aunt gave me what she called turk's cap lilies, I call them mini-beauties because the blooms are only 1 to 2 inches across. They multiply every year, and are similar to my tiger lilies.
Your mini-beauties also go by the common names of turk's cap or martagon lilies (Lilium martagon). Like other lilies these grow from scaly bulbs that can be planted in fall when you plant other hardy bulbs like tulips and daffodils. Some catalogues and garden centers sell them as precooled bulbs in spring or as potted plants with their other perennials in late spring or summer. Grow your martagon lilies in full sun or partial shade and well drained soil for best results. And consider clipping a few blossoms to enjoy indoors in a vase or mixed with other summer blooms.
