Saving Potted Fuchsia Over Winter

I have a potted Gartenmeister Bonstedt fuchsia that I'd like to save over the winter. What do I need to know to be successful?

Move your fuchsia to a sunny window or place it under an artificial light for best results. Water the plant thoroughly and frequently enough to keep the soil slightly moist. Cut back long spindly stems throughout the winter. This encourages stouter more compact growth plus you can use the clippings to start new plants. Most plants need little or no fertilizer over the winter. Use a dilute solution of flowering houseplant fertilize if the plant is actively growing and has pale leaves or showing other signs it needs a fertilizer boost. This method also works for begonias, geraniums, coleus and rose periwinkle.
