Beautiful Bluegrass Lawn without Chemicals
Is there any way to have a good looking bluegrass lawn without chemicals?
A healthy lawn is the best defense against weeds and pests. Start by mowing high. Keep the grass at least 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches tall removing no more than 1/3 the total height with each cutting. Fertilize to keep the lawn healthy. Low maintenance lawns can be fertilized around Halloween. A second application can be added at Memorial Day and a third at Labor Day. Water the lawn thoroughly during droughty periods to help the grass stand its ground against the more drought tolerant weeds.
