Planting & Care
  • Start salvia from seed indoors six to eight weeks before the last spring frost
  • Plant transplants in the garden after all danger of frost has passed
  • Space smaller cultivars 8 inches apart
  • Space larger cultivars 10 to12 inches apart
  • Deadhead to encourage branching and continual blooming
Downy and powdery mildew
  • Firecracker Series - 10 to 12 inches, variety of colors
  • Empire Series - 10 to 12 inches, variety of colors
  • Ablazin' Series - 18 to 26 inches, no deadheading necessary, red and purple flowers
