Small Scale Panicle Hydrangeas

Don’t let limited space stop you from growing easy care panicle hydrangeas in your landscape. You can now find smaller scale varieties perfect for small spaces, front of the border and containers.

If you like Limelight’s chartreuse flowers, but lack the space for this large shrub, consider its smaller four foot tall cousin Little Lime.

For an even smaller variety consider the 30-36” tall Bobo.  Its flowers cover the majority of the stems from tip to ground.

Add an accent to any small space with Little Quick Fire. It grows 3 to 5’ tall and wide, has creamy white flowers that turn pink with red highlights. Plus, the red stems add to the overall display.

If you have a bit more space, consider Little Lamb. This graceful plant grows six feet tall with white blossoms that brighten the garden for a long period of time.

A bit more information: Grow panicle hydrangeas in full sun to light shade with moist well-drained soil and sufficient space to reach their mature size. The plants need minimal pruning and will reward you with summer to fall flowers and winter interest.
