Downton Abbey Roses
Whether a Downton Abbey fan, rose lover or avid gardener, you may want to add some of the new Downton Abbey-inspired roses to your garden this year.
Roses in this collection were selected for characteristics that reflected the era and characters on the show. Pretty Lady Rose was inspired by the Lady Rose MacClare. The deep-pink flowers on this Hybrid Tea bush are large (4 to 5 inches in diameter), sweetly scented with ruffled petals on compact plants.
Anna's Promise named for the lady’s maid Anna Bates, was introduced in 2015. This Grandiflora has golden petals and a pink blush. The reverse side of the petals are a glowing bronze. The flowers have a spicy, fruity fragrance.
In 2017 Violet’s Pride™ lavender flowered floribunda and Edith’s Darling™ yellow English shrub rose will be added to the collection.
A bit more information: Violet’s Pride™ has spicy scented lavender flowers and is named for the Dowager Countess Violet Crawley. Edith’s Darling™ honors Lady Edith’s daughter, Marigold.
