Low Maintenance Indoor Plant Arrowhead Vine – Syngonium podophyllum
Grow it in a 6-inch pot, hanging basket or allow it to climb on a support. The arrowhead vine is an easy care versatile plant suited to indoor gardens.
The leaves can be solid green or variegated and the juvenile leaves are shaped like arrowheads, thus the common name. As the plants mature and begin climbing, the leaves become more dissected with 3 or more lobes.
It tolerates low light conditions but prefers it a bit brighter. Water thoroughly whenever the top inch of soil is beginning to dry. Group your arrowhead vine with other plants or place it on a gravel tray to boost the humidity.
It is invasive in tropical and subtropical areas where it should only be grown indoors.
And keep it out of the reach of pets and children as eating this plant can cause mouth irritation, drooling and vomiting.
A bit more information: If you prefer the non-lobed juvenile leaves or want to keep your arrowhead as a tabletop or shrubby plant, remove any climbing stems as they appear. Arrowhead vine is related to two other easy-care plants; pothos and philodendron that also tolerate pruning.
