Easy Care Chinese Evergreen Aglaonema

Add a bit of easy care beauty to your indoor garden with Chinese Evergreen.

This low light plant will brighten your indoor décor with its elliptical shaped leaves highlighted in silver and in some varieties red.

Grow Chinese evergreens in bright indirect or even low light locations. Keep soil consistently moist when it’s actively growing spring through fall. Allow the soil to go slightly dryer during winter.

Avoid overwatering that can lead to root rot. Use your finger to test the top inch or two of soil and water thoroughly when it is the consistency of a wrung-out sponge. Pour off excess water or place the plant on a tray filled with pebbles. The pebbles elevate the plant above any excess water that collects in the saucer.

The plants usually grow 1 to 1 ½ feet tall, making them perfect for a tabletop.

A bit more information: This plant seldom flowers when grown indoors. If you are lucky enough to see the flowers in late summer or fall, enjoy their subtle beauty. The center of the flower is a white spike known as a spadix and the partial enclosure is a green spathe.
