Strawberry Flowers Have Turned Pink

My sister-in-law spotted a pink-blooming strawberry plant in her garden. What caused the flowers to change from the typical white color?

Spontaneous changes in leaf shapes, flower color and other plant features are called sports. Many of these have resulted in the introduction of new edible and ornamental plants. This may be what happened to your plant. In fact there is an ornamental strawberry with pink flowers known as Pink Panda (Fragaria 'Pink Panda'). This pretty strawberry is grown for the flowers since it rarely bears fruit.
