Rusty Art

We have a lot of rain in my area, and with it, some of my yard "treasures" tend to rust. Will this rust affect the plants near those treasures?

Don't worry.  The rust won't hurt your plants.  Many gardeners use rusty nails to add iron to the soil.  Though it doesn't work as a fertilizer, the iron is not in a form available to plants, I have not seen or heard of any negative effects.  I have several pieces of rusty art placed amongst my plants with no signs of damage.
