Putting Rhubarb in Compost Pile
If you put rhubarb leaves in a compost pile and they break down will they still be poisonous if you put them in a vegetable garden?
The good news is that the toxic compound oxalic acid contained in the leaves rapidly decomposes and is not absorbed by the roots of other plants. So, adding them to the compost pile poses no threat to your vegetable garden.
