Leaves of Peach Tree Puckered with Reddish Lumps

The leaves of my peaches are puckered with reddish lumps. This has happened in the past but appears to be worse this season. The tree will drop some leaves but appears to be tolerating this problem.

Your tree is suffering from peach leaf curl. This fungal disease is most common in wet springs. Fortunately, if the damage is minimal healthy trees are able to survive. Rake and destroy leaves as they fall to reduce the source of future infections. Struggling trees or those repeatedly affected by the disease can be treated with a fungicide containing labeled for use on fruit trees.. Apply in spring as the buds begin to open. And as always be sure to read and follow label directions carefully.
