Getting Rid of Yucca
We took out some Yucca plants that were in our flower bed for a long time. We got a lot of the fleshy roots out but some are still putting out new shoots. What can we do to get rid of them?
Continually remove the leaves as soon as they appear. This removes the energy-producing portion of the plant. It eventually uses up the reserves in the roots and eventually dies from starvation. Or spot treat the yucca leaves and stems with a total vegetation killer. Protect nearby, desirable plants that can also be injured or killed if these total vegetation killers land on any of their above ground parts. Repeat if new yucca growth appears. And as always read and follow all label directions carefully.
