Columbine Leafminer
The leaves of my columbine have white streaks. The plant flowered and seems to be doing fine.
Columbine leafminer is the culprit. A fly like insect lays its eggs on the leaf surface. The egg hatches and a worm-like insect enters the leaf feeding between the upper and lower leaf surfaces. The plants tolerate the damage though they can become unsightly. Since the damage is done for the season there is no need or benefit from chemical treatment. After flowering you can cut back the foliage of badly damaged plants. The new leaves will be fresh and damage free for the remainder of the season.
