  • Plant 3 to 6 inches deep
  • Space 3 to 6 inches apart
  • Dig and clean when leaves turn yellow.  Then cure at 70-80° for several weeks then store uncovered at 40°
Problems
Thrips (which can overwinter in the corm), aster yellows, virus (aphid vector), bulb rot
Varieties
  • Large flowered hybrids - 2 to 5 feet tall, long flower spikes, large flowers and a variety of colors
  • Miniature and Butterfly - 1.5 to 4 feet tall, many flowers/stem, often ruffled, reproduce slowly
  • Primulinus - 1.5 to 3 feet tall, large flowers, more graceful habit
