Stromanthe is a colorful relative of the prayer plant suited to indoor gardens. The colorful leaves of Triostar usually sold as Tricolor make it a perfect gift for holidays like Valentine’s Day and Christmas.

Its long, narrow leaves are green with pale veins. Stems and the undersides of the leaves may be red or purple. Tricolor has colorful green, cream, and red leaves.

This tropical beauty requires high humidity and moist soil. Save time and boost the humidity by placing it among your other indoor plants or setting it on a gravel tray.

Water thoroughly whenever the top inch of soil is starting to dry. Pour off excess water or use the gravel tray to capture the water, boost the humidity, and eliminate this task.

Grow stromanthe in bright, indirect sunlight.

A bit more information:  This upright plant grows 12” tall and 18” wide indoors. In warmer areas (zones 9 to 11) when grown outdoors, it can reach 5’ tall and 3’ wide.
