Refresh your spirit with a walk among nature’s giants, the Redwoods. In celebration of their 100th anniversary, Save the Redwoods League has teamed up with California State Parks to encourage you to do just that.  They are offering free day-use admission to more than 40 Redwood state parks on the second Saturday of each month in 2018.

If you don’t live near these ancient trees, consider adding a trip to the Redwood Forests to your bucket list and visit this year. My first trip to the redwoods was 40 years ago, but I can still remember the magic of that first visit. Twenty years later my daughter and I visited the giant sequoias, a wonderful memory we both cherish.

Be a part of preserving this natural legacy. Have a redwood seedling planted in honor or memory of a loved one. Your gift benefits generations to come.

A bit more information: The ancient redwoods and giant sequoias, the largest and oldest residents of our planet, have seen dramatic decreases in their habitat. The redwoods once occupied 2.2 million acres from California’s Big Sur to just over the Oregon border. The redwood forests now occupy only 5% of this original undisturbed forest area.
