So many beautiful varieties of daylilies, how do you select the best one for your garden? The All-American Daylily Selection Council has helped narrow down the possibilities by recognizing outstanding daylily varieties suited to home gardens. The 2016 winner is Stella’s Pink Valentine.

This winning variety has nearly 4 inch pink blooms with rosy red centers and green throats. The compact plant has emerald green foliage and grows up to 16 inches tall.

Use this low growing daylily in containers, at the front of a flower border, mixed with shrubs or for mass plantings.

This repeat blooming daylily is hardy in zones 4 to 10.  Plus, it is rust resistant and heat tolerant.

Look for the other award winning daylilies selected not only for their beauty but also for superior performance in at least 5 hardiness zones.

A bit more information: The All-American Daylily Selection Council began its testing program in 1985 evaluating plants on 50 different characteristics. The first of the 21 All-American winners was awarded in 1994.
