Planting & Care
  • Start seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before last frost or outdoors after danger of frost has passed
  • Nick seeds or soak overnight to hasten germination
  • Plant seeds outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.  Plant seeds 6 inches apart and 1 inch deep. Thin 3-inch tall plants to 12 inches apart.
  • Space transplants 12 inches apart
  • Provide support for plants to grow on
Problems
Japanese beetles, can be invasive in some regions
Varieties
  • Heavenly Blue - bright blue flowers with white throat
  • Star of Yelta - heirloom variety, purple flowers with pink star center
