2018 AAS National Pepper Winners
Add some color and flavor to your container and gardens with two All-America Selections 2018 National Pepper winners.
You’ll enjoy the sweet and moderately spicy flavor of Red Ember Cayenne Pepper. You’ll be enjoying the flavor sooner than other cayenne peppers as it begins producing in about 75 days from transplant. This medium sized pepper plant produces large thick-walled cayenne peppers the judges found tastier than other varieties currently on the market.
Grow Roulette Habanero Pepper if you like the acorn shape, red color and citrusy flavor of habaneros, but want to skip the heat. One All-America Selections judge reported these early fruiting, high yielding plants produced 10 to 11 uniform red peppers at a time with a total yield of 100 peppers from one plant.
A bit more information: All-America Selections winners are tested nationally and selected for their flavor and performance in container and backyard gardens like yours. New introductions are compared to varieties already on the market. If they pass the judges evaluations for improved performance, better flavor, or ease of maintenance, they can be selected as a regional or national winner.
