Summer Blooming Hydrangeas
Add a flurry of flowers to the summer landscape with the low maintenance Annabelle hydrangeas. These hardy shrubs provide lots of beauty with minimal care.
Annabelle-type hydrangeas prefer partial shade and tolerate full sun if the soil is kept moist. Their large white blooms make them a standout in the shade garden. Combine these shrubs with other shade plants like hostas, ferns and astilbes. Extend your enjoyment by leaving the dried flowers on the plants for winter.
Add a bit of color with the Invincibelle® Spirit series. These Annabelle-types produce large pink flowers no matter the soil pH. Treat them as you would your other Annabelle-type hydrangeas and enjoy the extra color.
Avoid floppy growth with proper pruning. Cut all the stems back to 15 inches above the ground during the dormant season. Take about half of these stems back to ground level.
A bit more information: Looking for a big bold statement in the garden, try growing Incrediball®. This Annabelle-type hydrangea produces flowers up to 12” across on sturdy stems. Incrediball® Blush has equally large blossoms blushed pink.
