Five Minute Garden Maintenance

Improve your garden’s beauty, increase your enjoyment, and reduce stress five minutes at a time.

Gardeners know and research proves that gardening is good for your mind, body, and spirit.  But busy schedules often lead to neglected projects, weedy gardens, and long “To Do” lists.

Fight the overwhelming desire to give up.  Look for small tasks that can be done while waiting for a ride or as your family gets organized for the next activity.

Keep a weather-proof container or two filled with gloves, your favorite weeder, and pruners handy.  This insures your limited time will be spent weeding or deadheading instead of looking for tools.

You’ll be surprised how much you can accomplish in a few minutes.  Plus, tackling your landscape one small task at a time can be less overwhelming and less stressful.

And don’t be afraid to hire a professional to bring overwhelming jobs back down to a manageable size.

A bit more information: In the future look for ways to get the most out of every landscape task you do.  Mulching, for example, suppresses weeds, conserves moisture, and helps improve the soil as the organic mulch breaks down.  You get lots of benefits from one activity.
