Ripple Peperomia (Peperomia caperata)

Interesting texture and easy-care nature make the emerald ripple peperomia a great choice for home and office indoor gardens.

The wrinkled heart shaped leaves are dark green appearing almost purple and contrast nicely with the pink leaf stems. It grows only 6 to 8 inches tall making it perfect to display on a tabletop or windowsill.

This Brazilian rain forest native prefers bright indirectly lit locations from a north or east window and will thrive under artificial lights. Insufficient light will slow even stop plant growth while excessive light can fade or burn the leaves.

Grow ripple peperomia in well-drained soil and water thoroughly whenever the top inch of soil begins to dry. Pour off any excess water that collects in the saucer and avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.

A bit more information: Add a bit more color with the reddish leaves of ‘Luna Red’ or silvery Suzanne varieties. You can increase your houseplant collection by dividing mature specimens of this plant or from leaf cuttings.
