Macramé and Houseplants Back in Vogue
Macramé and houseplants are back in vogue. If you gardened in the 70’s or knew someone who did, chances are they had houseplants, many of which were supported with homemade macramé plant hangers.
Gardeners know the benefit of growing things and this includes houseplants. More people are buying houseplants for the beauty and health benefits.
High light low maintenance succulents got many people growing indoors. But now people are adding easy care sanseveria, you may know as snake plant, and large floor plants like fiddle leaf fig to the mix. You’ll find old time favorites, new and interesting varieties of these and unusual tropicals next time you shop.
Just match the plant to the light conditions and the water that that plant needs. And once you taste success; you just might find yourself filling every bright spot with a green plant.
A bit more information: Houseplants also purify our air. Research conducted by NASA and the National Association of Landscape Professionals (formerly ALCA and PLANET) found many of our popular houseplants remove volatile organic compounds out of the air. Many of these can cause headaches and other symptoms.
