Unique Leaf Rubbing Craft for All to Enjoy
Burn some calories and put pent up energy to work creating some leaf art.
Go for a walk and collect some leaves. Look for a variety of shapes and sizes that you can use to create fun projects and artwork to enjoy or give as gifts.
I found lots of great ideas and inspiration at KitchenTableClassroom.com. The creator is a mom and art teacher. The project I tried and plan to do with my grandkids was the leaf rubbing crayon resist leaf art for any season. You’ll only need plain lightweight white paper, a white crayon, and either old-fashioned dry cake or liquid watercolors.
Place leaves under the paper. Peel the wrapper off the crayon and use the side of your white crayon to make a leaf rubbing on the top of the paper. Then break out the paints to reveal the leaf rubbings using one or multiple colors.
A bit more information: Dress up your windows with some colorful leaves. Place leaves between two sheets of wax paper. Cover with a thin rag to protect your iron. Set your iron at a medium heat with no steam and press for a few minutes.
