Reading the Redwoods Contest

Help the youngsters in your life explore the magic of nature including the giant redwoods and sequoias. Parents, guardians and adult family members can sign up their kindergarten through 5th graders to participate in the free online Reading the Redwoods contest.

You don’t need to live near the redwood forests to participate. Just read a few books and complete five fun and easy activities about trees, forests and the redwoods. This program is part of the Save the Redwoods League’s 100th Anniversary celebration.

The contest began March 10th and runs through May 10th, 2018. Participants will be entered to win kid-friendly weekly prize packages. Once you complete the five activities, you will complete the online form and be entered to win the grand prize: a trip to the redwoods for a family of four.

A bit more information: Everyone is a winner when we inspire children to read, explore nature and learn about the giant redwoods and sequoias. Research shows that children are more focused, suffer less symptoms of ADHD, score better in school and many more benefits when they spend time in nature and gardening.
