Host a Plant Party
Gather family and friends, a few containers and plants and throw a winter planting party.
Whether you need a little bit of stress relief or a few gifts for the upcoming holidays, make planting a festive occasion for all to enjoy. Closed glass containers make excellent terrariums for small tropical plants while cacti and succulents thrive in drier open terrariums or shallow containers.
Purchase a variety of plants, potting mix, decorative stones and moss. Place supplies in attractive containers to create a centerpiece. Be sure to cover your table for easy cleanup and don’t forget the treats.
Make it a potluck and ask guests to contribute. Your guests will be glad to chip in knowing they will walk away with one or more planters to decorate their home or gift to friends. And just like a potluck dinner, everyone will benefit from each other’s creativity.
A bit more information: Create a few terrarium or planter examples to get the creative juices flowing. Ask fellow plant enthusiasts to create an example and provide the needed ingredients. Others can contribute food or help cover the cost, so everyone shares in the total experience.
