Simple Ways to Create Curb Appeal

It’s often the little touches that we overlook that can make a big difference when creating curb appeal.

Let’s start with your address numbers. Selecting the font and style that complements the architecture of your house can make them an attractive addition rather than an unsightly necessity.  Make sure the numbers are legible from the road during the day and at night.

Consider installing one attractive overhead pendant light or a pair of scones, flanking the door, to create a warm cozy glow. Select fixtures that complement rather than detract from your front entrance. And that goes for your wall mounted mailbox as well. Those with a curbside mailbox might consider enclosing it in a brick, stone or block column suitable for your front landscape.

And if you opt to grow plants on or around your curbside mailbox; make sure to provide safe and easy access for your letter carrier.

A bit more information: Painting or otherwise decorating your mailbox can also add to your home’s curb appeal.  Select a style that reflects your personality and complements your home and landscape.
