Grow a Bit of Aromatherapy in Your Garden with Hardy Lilies

Many people have heard of and perhaps you’ve even grown the most popular Stargazer oriental lily. It’s reliable, compact, and early blooming. This along with its big, colorful, and sweetly fragrant flowers made it a star.

Stargazer is worth a spot in the garden, but there are so many other fragrant, hardy lilies to consider.

Plant some Longiflorum Asiatic (LA) hybrid lilies for light fragrance and color in the midsummer garden.  You’ll enjoy the sweetly fragrant, large upward facing flowers.

Enhance the midsummer lily display by including Oriental Asiatic (OA) lilies. These hybrids are compact with large fragrant blooms.

End the summer with the flowers of Oriental lilies. You’ll find a wide variety of colors and heights for sale. Change things up with double oriental lilies with flowers that resemble a rose.

A bit more information: Hardy lilies make great container plants. They provide vertical interest as well as fragrance to patios, decks, and balconies.
