Brighten Garden with Goldhill Golden Aster

Brighten your garden with the cheery blooms of Goldhill golden aster (Heterotheca jonesii x villosa ‘Goldhill’).

This low growing plant is covered with small daisy-like flowers from spring through fall. Mature plants are about 2 to 4 inches tall and 6 to 10 inches wide. Goldhill golden aster works well as a groundcover, in rock gardens, near water features and at the edge of planting beds.

The gray fuzzy leaves make a nice backdrop for the cheery yellow flowers. Grow it in full sun and well-drained soil. Hardy in zones 5 to 8, it’s drought tolerant once established. And the deer tend to leave it be.

Grow it around taller blue flowered perennials like campanula and salvia. Or mix it in with other low growing perennials like sedum and creeping speedwell.

This Plant Select perennial thrives in adverse conditions with fewer resources and less environmental impact.

A bit more information: Plant Select is a brand of plants designed to thrive in adverse conditions of the high plains and intermountain regions of Colorado. The goal is to successfully grow beautiful plants with minimal resources and less environmental impact.  For more details visit Plant Select.
