Witchhazel
I recently heard you on Public Radio. I missed where I could purchase a common witchhazel. Can you help?
The common witchhazel (Hamamelis virginiana) is a native plant that tolerates sun and shade and dry soils once established. This large shrub has fragrant yellow flowers in fall. The flower displayed is revealed as the yellow fall leaves drop from the plant in October. Check with area nature centers for retail sources for this and other plants. I would start with retail nurseries that tend to have a larger plant selection.
