When to Plant Tulips and Daffodils

When is the best time to start planting daffodil and tulip bulbs?

It’s best to wait for the soil to cool.  Early planting can result in early sprouting.  Store the bulbs in a cool dark place until it is time to plant.  Start the bulbs planting season with daffodils that like a little extra time to root and end with tulips that are subject to early sprouting.  Get the best results by planting when the soil is 40 to 50 degrees or about 6 weeks before the ground usually freezes in your area.
