Red Spots on Strawberry Leaves

My strawberry plants have brownish red spots on the leaves. Will this hurt the plants?

Leaf spot and leaf scorch are both fungal diseases that cause the spotting you describe. Remove infected leaves. If the disease continues to be a problem in the future remove infected leaves after harvest. This can be done by mowing the patch with the blade set high. Rake and destroy all cuttings. Avoid the problem in new plantings by using disease resistant cultivars such as Earliglow, Honeoye, Ozark Beauty, and Ft. Laramie.
