Keeping Lavender Alive Through Cold Winters

How can I help my English lavender survive Minnesota winters?

Lavender needs good soil drainage to grow, thrive and survive cold winters like yours. Grow lavender in an area that receives full sun and drains well throughout the year. Avoid low spots that collect water or ice-over in the winter. Try the lavender cultivars ‘Munstead’ or ‘Hidcote’ that are supposed to be a little hardier than the rest.
