Joseph's Coat

What can you tell me about Joseph’s Coat?

This brilliant bloomer, Amaranthus tricolor, goes by several common names including Joseph's coat, fountain plant and summer poinsettia. This annual is grown for the colorful foliage not the ineffective green or red flowers that may appear in late summer. Like other amaranths, this plant is tolerant of sun, heat, drought and poor soil conditions. Avoid waterlogged soil that can cause root rot and excess fertilizer that can dull the foliage color.
