Hosta with Funny Looking Leaves
I have several hostas with several funny looking leaves. The edges are soft and somewhat translucent or brown. It doesn’t seem to be spreading.
Sounds like frost damage. This occurs on tender young growth that is exposed to freezing temperatures. The leaves that develop after the cold snap are free of damage. Spring frost damage is more common on the earlier sprouting hosta varieties or those moved from the greenhouse into the garden before the last spring frost. The plants will survive the damage and the newer growth will help mask the frost damaged leaves.
