Growing Angel's Trumpet

A friend gave me a beautiful angel’s trumpet. Can you give me some advice about how to care for it?

Angel’s Trumpet botanically known as Brugmansia and formerly Datura is a tropical plant.  It must be treated as an annual or moved indoors for winter where the temperatures drop below 45 degrees.  Grow this plant in full sun and a well drained soil for the summer. Water and fertilizer, with a flowering plant food, throughout the summer.  Consider growing your Angel Trumpet in a container if you plan on moving it inside for the winter.  It is less stressful on the plant, since you won’t need to disturb the roots, and easier on your back. Place the plant in a sunny location indoors for winter. Water thoroughly whenever the soil starts to dry.  Do not fertilize during the winter months unless the plant is actively growing.
