Broadleaf Weed Killers Versus Weed and Feed Products

I often hear you recommend using broadleaf weed killers instead of weed and feed products. Why?

There are several benefits to applying fertilizers and broadleaf weed killers separately. By using separate products you can apply the correct amount of each product to the lawn at the time it will be most effective. The best time to treat weeds isn't always the best time to fertilize the lawn. Also the weed and feed product may not have the amount and mix of nutrients needed by your lawn. Plus you can reduce the amount of pesticides used by applying weed killers to problem areas, instead of treating the whole lawn with a weed and feed product.
