Best Time to Transplant Grape Hyacinth Bulbs
I would like to transplant some grape hyacinth bulbs. When is the best time to do this?
Transplant grape hyacinths and other spring flowering bulbs in fall for best results. Mark their location now to make it easier to locate the bulbs in fall when the leaves are gone. Grape hyacinths usually send up leaves in the fall, making it easier to locate them. Otherwise move bulbs in spring as the foliage starts to decline. I have moved bulbs at less than ideal times, with good success. They do not always bloom the following spring but quickly adjust to their new location and flower the following season.
