Plant 3 to 6 inches deep and space 3 to 6 inches apart; dig and clean when leaves turn yellow, dry in a warm space for several days, cure at 70-80 degrees for several weeks then store uncovered at 40 degrees

Thrips (which can overwinter in the corm), aster yellows, virus (aphid vector), bulb rots

Varieties to Consider

Large Flowered hybrids - 2 to 5' tall, long flower spikes, large flowers and a variety of colors
Miniature and Butterfly - 1.5 to 4' tall, many flowers/stem, often ruffled, reproduce slowly
Primulinus - 1.5 to 3' tall, large flowers, more graceful habit
